how can you see this face and not smile? davis' second favorite place is the swing at the playground down the street! (the first is in momma's arms of course). it's so nice to have a swing set in our backyard as well as a few steps down the street. what a great neighborhood!

every morning davis and i go in to get presley out of her bed. i think she thinks he is sleeping across the hall from her and gets up right before she does. little does she know that he sleeps in another room across the house and has probably been up at least 2 hours before she gets up. he loves to hold onto her crib and gives her kisses:) makes my heart melt!!

for some reason daddy time usually involves a chocolate popsicle!!

lots going on in franklin this summer!

brian got a new office in downtown nashville! while i hate that it is such a long drive for him each day i love that he now tries to work from home more on fridays:) yea!  so, last week we headed downtown to decorate his office with our new interior designer friend brittany garland (love ya britt) and then got to eat after ward at cantina laredo- my new fav mexican spot! here is presley climbing on the ledge next to the window- his office is on the 7th floor of the wachovia building and even though i wasn't able to enjoy the view (i almost threw up b/c it was so high- yes, i am completely afraid of heights, i blame my mother) presley loved it!!

here is davis attempting his new independence by crawling on the chair. don't worry mom- brian is taking the picture while i am standing at the edge of the chair in case he falls.

our new wagon!!! thanks mimi! we love it so much, we try to at least sit in it once a day if not go for a ride in it. davis is smiling here b/c he just realized he could reach presley and her sippy cup and presley looks pissed off b/c she just realized davis can reach her and her sippy cup.

the new ferrari- a red and white tricycle. you're nothin unless you have one of these:) if it wasn't for my mom and presley's grandparents the kid wouldn't have anything but two sticks to rub together. i am so blessed to have such a great family and get to share with them each and every day. i can't wait for her to really be able to ride her bike and i get to run after her:)

fun times in franklin so far

i always knew that once i had a little girl that she would get dressed up in my clothes, try on my make up and put on my shoes. i just never imagined it would be at the age of 2! my big girl completely steals my heart my putting on some of my high heels and checking herself out in the mirror. how can i stop time?????

one afternoon it was a little cool so we got to put on her fun tights and head out for a walk around the neighborhood.  i absolutely love her in her gap skirt and tights with her pig tails as well. she is every bit as adorable in real life as she is in this picture!!

one of our other new favorite things to do in franklin is head out to the concert series at the clubhouse on the lawn. we bring our own chairs, blanket, snacks and drinks. presley gets to run around with all of the kids and dance to the music while davis is so happy to be outside and get some fresh air (although he usually falls asleep soon after we arrive:)

we love visitors! aunt rebekah came to stay for a few days with mimi and thank you GOD davis likes her. our front porch swing is one of his favorite places (as well as mine) and he was so happy bekah held him while on the swing.

presley's favorite person: mimi! on the front porch blowing bubbles that even to this day i don't do as well as mimi. or so presley tells me. i can only hope to aspire. anyway, here are mimi and presley catching bubbles on the porch and having a great afternoon together!!

an evening with the covey's

i just realized i haven't uploaded any photos in a while- guess i have been busy meeting new people and going to the pool. here are a few of what happens almost every night at the covey house. bath time!! 

brian almost always spikes up presley's hair. presley almost always puts davis in a head lock in an attempt to help get him clean. her love is so strong it may actually kill him. just kidding. of course, he loves it until he sees the worried look on our faces and then he starts to cry. 

another daily event at our house is our afternoon walk. here is presley looking for the "precious puppy" whose name is pip but she is determined to call him hip.

pip lives at this house on the corner of our walk way behind a beautiful rod iron gate. he has a bed, water bowl and his mom just got him a pool to cool off in the summer heat. pip can hear presley turning the corner of the walkway and his mom says he barks at the back door now to be let out so he can say hi to us. it seems as though everyone and every animal is friendly here:)

on our walks around the new neighborhood there are these 2 dog statues that presley loves to run up to and give hugs. she does it every time and it is so cute i just had to take a picture.

mimi got presley this for her 1st christmas- a pink motorcycle. i think she was only 8 months old but it gets a lot more use now. if only i could find the charger....

new pics in franklin!!

thought everyone would enjoy some of the latest photos of the new house in franklin and get to see how fast my babies are growing. davis is now sitting up- yes, all by himself. presley is well, the genius that she always has been. however, lately she is learning her letters and numbers. did i mention she just turned 2!! i am such a proud mama:)

when we first moved back to tennessee it rained EVERY DAY! well, the first 6 days and then it stopped for two and rained for 3 more. can you tell i was counting?? so, of course we had to go out and buy the cutest rain boots ever. she loves them so much and i am so impressed she can put them on herself without my help. i NEVER thought that would happen.

this is our back yard where the couple that lived here before left a really cool playground for us. davis usually falls asleep in the swing- here is a rare moment with his eyes open. enjoy.

the other side of the playground is the sandbox with tire swing. whenever presley gets in it jackson is never far behind. i guess the sand helps cool him off and he can keep a close eye on  pres too.

presley's is 2!!!!

i don't even know where to start in describing the best two year old bday party ever!!!! the diego bouncy house was so much fun had by kids and adults. the sno cone machine was a big hit as well. here are a few shots we got of pres and the diego bouncy house.

davis enjoyed his sister's party as well.  he was passed around by all the ladies and flirted with some of the other 5 month old girls at the party. a ladies man - just like his daddy use to be:)
